Official Premier League app for Android updated with 2019/20 Fantasy Premier League season.

Originally created in 1971 by Bernie Donnelly, Fantasy football is a game in which participants assemble an imaginary team of real-life players and score points based on those players' statistics; and this is still a thing 45 years later in a variety of sports. With the Premier League starting in August, the Premier League app now includes the 2919/20 league game. So if you're into Fantasy League, hit that update button in Google Play Store on your device. I can't wait for the Premier League season to begin.

SofaScore update provides detailed information for World Cup 2018 stadiums.

The World Cup 2018 is ongoing and the excitement is building up as we get closer to the semis. Today SofaScore is updating its app for Android with info about the stadiums where the games will be played. With this update, SofaScore users will be able to find information about the stadium under the Details tab along with a beautiful picture, the location, and capacity. This is not a big update, but if you're the kind of fans who look into details, you'll like this one. Tomorrow's game opposes Brazil against Belgium will be played at the Kazan Arena. Unfortunately, SofaScore does not provide a detailed map, but, at least, fans will be able to use their phones and Google Maps to find their way.

The update is already available in Google Play Store for download. Enjoy the games tomorrow. 

Yahoo Mail brings World Cup game schedules and scores at the top of your Inbox.

Yahoo Mail has a treat for football fans around the world in the latest update for Android devices. Users of Yahoo Mail will now be able to follow games scores live in their Inbox. Yahoo added a band at the top of the Inbox that shows the teams, games schedule of the day and scores. The band can easily be minimized. The word 'Live' appears in red for ongoing games. 

If users need more info, a tap on each of the games - live or not - takes them to Yahoo Sports page for more details. There, users will get info such as game statistics, game stream and join the conversation with other football fans. A little envelope icon at the top right of the page takes the user back to Yahoo Mail.

I'm watching the game between Egypt and Uruguay as I write this and I'm just curious whether Yahoo Mail will notify me if the score evolves. I'll update this post if it does.

The update also includes the following:

• Now you can see your messages separated by date.
• You can also select all messages from a particular date range and delete, archive, or organize at once.
• Find messages faster with suggestions as you search.
• Bug fixes and performance enhancements.

World Cup 2018: Forget Paul the Octopus & Achilles the cat. Enter Babushka, SofaScore's human predictor.

We're hours from the official launch of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the host country, Russia, playing against Saudi Arabia and if you are of the betting type and needs some precog before shelling out money, I strongly recommend you must check with Babushka first. Confused? Let me explain.

Remember Paul the Octopus back at World Cup 2010 who accurately chose the winners of each game and Paul became a star - maybe not for bookies. Her first video has been published and, like Achilles the cat, Babushka predicts a Russia win against Saudi Arabia. Whether she gets this right or not, Babushka is just adorable and her pre-games analysis are well thought out. Something animals can't do.

English Premier League app for Android introduces the newly promoted teams for season 2018/19 season and more.

The English Premier League has updated their Android app for the next season already. The app now shows the three newly promoted teams for the upcoming 2018/19 season: Wolverhampton Wanderers, Cardiff City, and Fulham. The updated app also brings the highlights of the 2017/18 season. 

Additionally, "you can also explore all-time Premier League club, player and manager record-holders through the new 'Records' section in the Stats area."

That being said, download the update free in Google Play Store to prepare for the new season.

Official Premier League app for Android gets new player statistics comparison.

The English Premier League 2017/2018 is drawing to a close with Manchester City as the undisputable title winner with 16 points clear of first Loser Manchester United. Until the very end, other teams, especially those in the relegation zone, are still desperately fighting to stay in the League and avoid relegation. Meanwhile, the official Premier League app for Android is being updated with new features and bug fixes.

The app will now let users compare player statistics "from any season and see who comes out on top." This feature can be found in the Stats Centre.

The update also include the following:

• Ability to see highest scoring FPL team of the Gameweek.
• Match Centre enhancements.
• Minor bug fixes and improvements.

While the season is ending, the Official Premier League app is a great way to stay abreast of news outside the pitch. English football fans can download the app free in Google Play Store.

SofaScore for Android updated with latest soccer players transfer data.

SofaScore, my favorite sports app, has been updated. The first update for the year 2018 has for main feature information about players transfers. This new option can be found under the Leagues tab, literally. And that’s quite an extensive list that covers every football league worldwide. Fortunately, SofaScore built-in a good filtering tool.

Tapping ‘Players Transfers’ reveals a long list of transfers with such data as the transfer amount, the date the transfer occurred and, obviously, the teams involved in the transfer. The ‘Player Value’ tab lists the players by value. While the ‘Transfer Fee’ tab lists the transfers from the most expensive to least. You can tap each entry in the list for more details about the player and choose to receive notifications for this player. Finally, the last tab filters the transfers by date. Like I said, the transfer feature covers pretty much every league.

SofaScore makes it even easier to filter that extensive list of transfers. Simply tap ‘Filter list’ to do a manual filter by nationality, league, player position, and age. Start typing and the app will pull up the matching leagues and nationality for you. A quick and easy way to find what you’re looking for.

Here are the other items in the changelog:

·       Squads are now available for teams in Handball (ex. EHF Euro 2018)

·       “Forum” is replaced by “SofaScore News” in navigation drawer. Get an insight in SofaScore project from a slightly different perspective.

FIFA launches its official [World Cup] app for Android.

With the 2014 world cup behind the door, it comes as no surprise to see the world football regulator release its own app for fans worldwide to keep tabs on the event on their phones and tablets. But since the major event is still months away, it does have another purpose and deserves a place on your favorite device now as it provides you with news, stats, live score for the world's top leagues, an all-in-one app for soccer fans around the world. But there's more.

The app will give you access to the FIFA final draw live on December 6 which will determine the fate and path of your national team in the World Cup 2014. The app will also provides access to videos from FIFA TV studios and archives but does not mention live streaming of games.

The FIFA app is free and can be downloaded on Google Play Store. An iOS version is also available.

HTC releases HTC FootballFeed app for UEFA Champions and Europa leagues.

HTC has launched an Android app that lets soccer fans to follow UEFA Champions league and Europa league on the go. The app, called HTC FootballFeed, has been released today. FootballFeed looks similar to Blinkfeed, the built-in news reader for HTC devices. As such, HTC FootballFeed provides soccer fans with news, stats etc. Also included is push notification  and a 15 minutes reminder before a game starts so you don't miss anything whether you're on your couch or away from your TV or home.

HTC FootballFeed is a free download from Google Play Store and requires Android 4.1 (Jelly bean).
