How to: Send web pages from Chrome desktop to your Android phone and vice-versa.

Before diving in, first verify you have the latest version of Chrome installed on your computer and phone, and that you use the same Google account on all your devices. Using the same account is key to synchronizing such things as tabs, favorites across all your devices.

The ability to send tabs or web pages from a device to another is recent. Google took its time to implement, test, deploy the feature, but it’s been available through extensions and third-party software.

I'm going to show you how to send pages to and from your Android device. But first, you have to download and install the latest version of Chrome for Android an all your devices. Once that is done, open a website on your computer in Chrome. Then, with your mouse, right-click on the tab and select "Send to your devices". In doing so, you will see the devices on which you signed in with your Google account. Select the device you want to send the site to. You will receive a notification with the title of the website and the name of the computer from which it was sent on your phone. Tap the notification on your phone to open the page.

Like I said earlier, this works both ways. If for some reason, you want to send a page from your phone to your computer, follow these steps.

Open the site on your Android device. Then click the three vertical dots at the top-right corner and click "Share..." to open the share menu. In the menu, click "Send to your devices" - that's the icon with the Chrome icon - and click the device listed in the "Send to" menu. Click the notification in the "Action Center" on your Windows 10 computer to open the site.

It's as simple as that. I love this feature.

Firefox Focus browser for Android finally gets 'Find in Page' and 'Request Desktop Page' in latest update.

If you value your privacy, Firefox Focus is the browser made just for you. By default, Firefox Focus blocks ad trackers and lets you easily erase your history, passwords, and cookies. In fact, the browser cleans up everything each time you close it after use. Firefox Focus also features a minimalistic design with a few configurations options.

Today the app was updated with two new simple features. Features that you expect to find in any modern browser, like the 'Find in Page' that lets you search text on a webpage. Firefox Focus is also adding a 'Request Desktop Page' feature to easily switch between mobile and desktop versions of pages you visit.

These two new features are available in version 6.0 of Firefox Focus which can be downloaded free in the Google Play Store.

Citrix Receiver gets support for Android 6 Developer Preview 3 (Marshmallow).

If your business or the company you work for is virtualized, you should be familiar with Citrix Receiver, an Android app that lets you access your work desktop on any supported phone or tablet on the go and check your corporate email and applications.

Citrix Receiver has been updated today. This update does not contain anything new, but the developers have added support for Android 6 Developer Preview 3, a.k.a Marshmallow. Head over to Google Play Store to update Citrix. While this update does add the bits to make Citric Receiver Marshmallow-friendly, it also includes a number of unspecified fixes and minor enhancements. So don't skip this update even if you're device is not running Marshmallow.

Send directions from PC to Android with Google Maps update.

Asking for directions to passers-by is something of the past thanks to Google Maps or apps like Waze. With these apps getting better and better at what they do, planning an outing is such a breeze. Remember those animated discussions about which route is the best? Google Maps helped us start the day with zen. However, there was just one irritating omission in Google Maps. While it was great at offering the directions on Google Maps desktop, the app was not good at sharing the directions with our phones. That also is now something of the past. 

Google has updated Maps with a new feature that will let users send places they search for on Google Maps desktop to their mobile devices. A zen way to start your journey. 

Download the update from the Play store. I have updated the app but have yet to see the "send to device" link to appear in Google Maps desktop. It may be that this feature is not available yet in my region.
