SPB releases 3D interface for Android.

I wonder what took them so long to port SPB Shell to Android. First there was SPB Shell for Windows Mobile. Now with Windows Phone 7, Microsoft is exerting a firm grip on the interface that prevents third party and even device manufacturers to port their own UI to the platform. It is quite logical to see SPB port the Shell to Android. So, if you're tired of HTC Sense or the default Android UI, shell out $14.95 to purchase SPB Shell 3D and embellish your beloved Android phone

"SPB Shell 3D is a successor of the SPB Mobile Shell product line. The SPB Mobile Shell series is the most awarded mobile UI solution available on the market today. It has been publicly recognized as the number one best-selling mobile UI application across all smartphone platforms for the past 4 years. SPB Mobile Shell has also been successful among mobile carriers and OEMs, and has been deployed by over 15 device manufacturers and carriers, including Sony Ericsson, Toshiba, and O2."

For 2011, the company expects Flash Player to be supported on more than 132 million units worldwide. More than 50 tablets are expected to support Flash Player this year alone. Using Adobe Creative Suite(R) 5 tools, over three million Adobe Flash Platform developers are now able to author content across a substantial number of devices for both Flash Player and AIR.

"We are thrilled to see mobile adoption of Flash Player and AIR exceeding even our own expectations, with much more to come in the months ahead," said David Wadhwani, senior vice president, Creative and Interactive Solutions Business Unit, Adobe. A key element of the Adobe Flash Platform, AIR enables developers to leverage existing code to create and deliver standalone applications across devices and platforms. Adobe AIR supports smartphones and tablets based on Android[TM], iOS, BlackBerry Tablet OS, and desktops including Windows, Macintosh and Linux(R) operating systems. In addition, Samsung is the first television manufacturer to ship Adobe AIR in its line of Samsung SmartTV devices. AIR is also able to display native browser controls within the application allowing for the integration of HTML and .SWF content. With SQLite support developers can easily store and cache databases inside an AIR application.

Official Android Twitter app updated.

The official Twitter application for Android has always been, in my opinion, below par compared to Seesmic, Tweetdeck and others. That does not just apply to the Android platform; it's the same on my Windows Phone 7 on which Seesmic is my default and favorite Twitter app. It seems that Twitter wants that to change and they released version 2.0 that does away with the blue sky and white clouds background.

Instead, there are now icons at the top that let you view mentions, messages and list. This change allows for faster browsing. Twitter 2.0 for Android also includes universal search. Therefore you can find tweets containing your keywords, including tweets sent by people near your location etc.Twitter 2.0 is available free for download through Android Market or just click the link to have it sent to your device.
